Like they say in show business.. Break a leg young man.

Ouch Ouch Ouch. That is all I can say about this season.

It started out ok, as Kemba agreed to an extension of 5yrs/56mil.
But after that it went straight downhill.

Jabri Parker was the big addition to the team, and 17 games in he was showing that promise by averaging 15pts/6reb/3assts. But disaster struck in game 17, as he tore his MCL and was gone for the year. And that was only the first drop in the bucket when it came to injuries. Just before the All-Star break Kemba went down for 2-4 weeks with a sprained wrist, Lance Stephenson for 4-6 weeks with a strained oblique, and Maurice Evans for the season with a torn Achilles. With the loss of Parker we needed some more beef up front, so we traded Gerald Henderson and a '16 2nd rounder for Ersan Ilyasova. Ilyasova has one more year and a team option on his contract for 7mil a year. His outside shooting and rebounding was sorely needed.

Even with all the injuries the guys were playing their hearts out. In the very weak East they were in 8th place with a 24-30 record. Jefferson made the All-Star game for his second time.

After the All-Star break the injuries just kept coming in waves. Jefferson went down for 2-4 weeks with a sprained neck, Mitch McGary 6-8 weeks with a broken foot, and Ben Gordon for 4-6 weeks with a torn hand ligament. There were times we only had 10 players to dress. It was a hard year to make it through. The attrition of the injuries finally took its toll in the second half. As we fell to 10th place in the East and finished with a 35-47 record. The only silver lining is that was still 5 games better than the year before.

Jefferson finished the year on the All-NBA 3rd team, and with all the playing time Andrew Harrison was forced to play with Kemba's injuries he finished on the All-Rookie 2nd team.

There wasn't really anything that we could hang our hats on for the year. It was a complete loss for Parker, although he showed some promise in the few games he did get to play. Some hard decisions are going to have to be made in the offseason, as I'm running out of time in my four year plan. Two years down and nothing to show for it.
