OS Community Feedback - Madden 13
Posted on May 16, 2012 at 09:07 AM.
Let me preface this by saying I am not a huge Madden fan. NCAA has always been my game of choice since I can remember, though I do pick up Madden every few years. But I have been reading the recent articles breaking down the improvements from a gameplay and audiovisual standpoint. Along with that, I have also viewed the comments from the OS community in regards to these articles and videos. I don't want to put all of the community in a box, but it truly makes me sick looking at these reactions.

Seriously, have you guys read through the comments? It's like people have a preconceived notion that Madden is going to suck before you even put a finger on it. I can't tell if you are doing it because you are just a Madden ***** (in which case, you don't need to be trolling the boards/blogs anyway), or if you are doing it to get a rise from the community (in which case, go find a hobby).

Here is an example of good, constructive feedback:
"I'm not very impressed by the commentary at this early stage, but I'm going to reserve judgment until we get closer to release day. It still possesses a disjointed flow in this stage of development (IMHO). "

Here is an opinionated statement (not very helpful, but I can live with it):
"Umm...That looked and sounded horrible."

And lastly, here is an example of a statement that is just pure nonsense:
"Looks like last year and the year before and well you get it. They need to start over..."

I have seen these statements way too often on this website. "It's Madden 12 1/2", "Is this footage from last year?" , blah, blah, blah. Go put in Madden 10, 11, and 12 and tell me they look the same. I beg you! It's absolute BS to say Madden is not making changes. Graphics have improved significantly since Madden 10. Commentary, while it may sound a bit disjointed and bland at times is a significant improvement over Gus and Cris. I personally, have been waiting for EA to show the commentators in the booth ever since NCAA 06 when they had Brad, Corso, and Kirk in the intro. And the animations have come a long way as well. Yes, the OL/DL interactions still leave a lot to be desired, and defense has not received much treatment this year. But if the pass trajectories have truly eliminated the "super LBs" and DBs can no longer react to a ball without seeing it, then you have to complement EA for fixing 2 significant issues. People expecting EA to stratch the current build and start over are delusional. We need to except the fact that it is what it is and move forward. If you don't appreciate the little changes that's fine, but at least give good feedback. Chase would appreciate that.
