So in my Speech class we are doing group persuasive speeches as our final... Our group was given the War in Iraq as our topic, and we chose to be against the war.
I was given the "cultural effects" as my topic, and I need some ideas. Here's kind of how my outline looks right now...
I. U.S. Casualties
----a. total deaths
----b. wounded
II. Iraqi Casuatlies
----same as above
III. Polls showing Americans against war.
....and that's it. My part of the speech is going to have to last 5-6 minutes, so I need more things to go over. The reason I'm posting this is in hope that someone on here can give me a couple of more ideas to go over.
I can't go over anything economic (i.e. the cost, etc), mainly things similar to what I already have. If you have any ideas PLEASE post them as I need this done by tomorrow and I'm not close to finishing.

One thing that you didn't mention and it's definitely cultural is the change in view of Muslims in America.
Here's a video report on how the Bush years were tough for Muslim Americans. I'm in Canada and the video isn't viewable for me so I don't know how detailed the report is but check it out. I'm sure you can also find some polling to see how attitudes towards Muslims have changed

Oh, I kind of missed the cultural effects. Hopefully some of what I came up with is still applicable. Sorry.

Thanks for the responses guys.
Giggas those are some good ideas, I'll be sure and pass those on to the other members of my group who could use them.
SPTO - Great one as well, I'll deff have to look into that. I could probably go pretty deep with that one comparing Muslims in American today to Japanese Americans during WWII.

- Bush's handling of the war
That's a quick little brainstorm I came up with. I might post some more later. Good luck!
