Cincinnati, OH--- After coming off of the worst loss of the season, Mike Leake and the Reds looked to bounce back in the first game in the Ohio Cup, against the Cleveland Indians. Going into the bottom of the 6th inning, Josh Tomlin (3.02, 5-2), had the Reds looking like a Cy Young winner. With one out in the 6th, Mike Leake hit a 378ft. home run to left field for his first career home run and put the Reds up 1-0. Leake also pitching another great outing, as he carried a shut out into the 9th. With only 94 pitches, Dusty Baker decided to leave him in, only to give up a home run to the lead off batter, Jason Kipnis for his 7th home run of the year to tie things at 1 a piece. " I left his a cutter up too high that didn't cut," said Leake following the game. The game would continue in the 13th inning. With two outs in the 13th, Chris Heisey drove a Jeremy Accardo fastball into the left field seats; sending the Reds fans home happy with a 2-1 victory over their in-state rivals. The Reds will look to take game 2 of the 3 game series on Wednesday night at 7:10, Justin Masterson (3.83, 5-3) will take the mound for the tribe against Bronson Arroyo (2.93 7-2), who will be looking for his 8th win of the season.
