The Dynasty Has Begun!

The much anticipated dynasty with NCAA Football 11 is now underway. Being a graduate of the University of Tennessee and a resident of Knoxville, it is only fitting that the Vols are a part of the madness. In addition to the Big Orange, I also chose a scrub team (hold your Vols jokes), so I chose the lousy Golden Panthers of FIU.

The idea is to get FIU to greatness and return the Vols to elite status. FIU will be a test, but there is no doubt the Vols will be there by year end. I'm doing All-American with both game play difficulty and recruiting difficulty so we will see how it goes.

Any top recruits in the beginning having TN as top (like 5* guys)?

one more....whose roster set did you end up using? I have been trying to finalize my UT roster and have a couple of guys I am undecided on? Would love to compare...like do you have John Brown or Victor Thomas as DT on your team (in place of Chase Nelson) for example..

doomsday72499, I ended up using Block-O's rosters as the base. Before I started the dynasty, I ended up putting John Brown in Chase Nelson's place. I also created Malik Jackson (DE transfer from USC) and removed him from the USC roster. The strategy I am using is the default pro-style. I am trying to keep the UT dynasty as realistic as possible. And yes, TN is a very popular destination for elite prospects. My entire draft board is filled with four and five star recruits.

Now, FIU on the other hand is an absolute challenge.

1. I am using BlockO's roster too....just making a few edids (I added Malik--just trying to figure out what # to give him...currently have Brown in for Nelson...trying to decide if I want to add Palardy (since Lincoln is still on team) and if want to add Darr (P)....with Palardy and Darr..I would not have to worry about recruiting P/K....

2. I was asking more on your recruiting strategy...what states are you going after (following Dooley's pattern of states that border TN or still going national)?

last one for now...nice to see that you are getting 4* and 5* in the game..was worried about not getting many in the 4* range...let alone 5*

doomsday, I actually just left Lincoln in because I didn't want to have to worry about changing stats around or anything. Recruiting a kicker isn't such a big deal to me. As for my recruiting strategy, for the first season I just recruit the best players that are interested in me. For Tennessee, there are a lot of good players interested, so it's not too bad. As the season progresses, I may change my focus to pipeline states.

Did you do any other roster edits or add any players before beginning? How many players are you targeting to start off the dy.

Also, how are the recruit possibilities for FIU? Just curious...

I didn't do any roster edits before the dynasty.. I look at it as Block-O and company did a great job getting these rosters out. They look a lot better than they originally did. So I just left them alone and began the dynasty. As for FIU, there are a lot of good Florida prospects, unfortunately there are a lot more better Florida teams that recruit them. I basically am left with scraps, so I just try and get 2 and 3 star prospects and and really focusing on winning some games so that I am better able to recruit in the future.
