I am really noticing that All-American difficulty for NCAA12 feels like the old Heisman. I think there are a combination of different reasons why I think the overall difficulty for all NCAA levels has increased:
1) Psychic DB's
2) Super LB's
3) CPU adjusting defense to all hot routes and audibles
4) O-line that gets dominated by crappy D-Lines
The issues I listed above are borderline ridiculous on Heisman. I was surprised to see the 74 overall linebacker from Indiana had a 54'' vertical which allowed him to snag a 30 yard post route I was trying to show. The defense backs also jump routes with 5 yards strides...while my WR just continues his route without coming to the ball. In addition, my o-line gets manhandled whenever I try to run. Counters are DOA before I snap the ball.
Also, seeing the defense re-align itself each time I hot route or audible is just stupid....especially when I change from pass to run and they switch from loading the line of scrimmage to dropping back.
So what does all of this mean???
When I change the difficulty to All-American, I can actually run the ball a little bit, and my O-line hangs in there a few seconds longer. The super LB's and psychic DB's are still there, but b/c I can run the ball, I'm not having to air it out 65 times per game. I have yet to blow anybody out, the closest game being a 13 point win over Marshall as Ball State.
Maybe, much like years past, I will adjust and eventually start blowing everybody out on AA. But for some reason, this year feels different, and I may just keep it on AA and implement some house rules to keep the game challenging and refreshing. Lord knows I cannot play another game on Heisman without losing it! (fyi - I can go 5 wide all game and win, but that sucks)
Here is to hoping that someday, EA can come up with some AI that is realistic, and the idea of "difficulty" goes out the window:
1) Base the game more on ratings. Ohio State should murder most other schools....its what they do, they have the best athletes. Same for LSU, Oklahoma, etc... There should be no way I can play as Marshall and go into the Shoe and win a game.
2)Conversely, when I am Ohio State, and playing Marshall, I should be able to run the ball right down their throats. Seeing their 64 overall DT level my 90+ rated O-linemen over and over is just stupid.
Thoughts?

I think I can relate with what you are saying.
The way I view it is if you line up a crummy CB from a MAC school against a 90+ rated WR from Texas, it should be a field day for the Texas WR. But, I know that on Heisman, and even AA to an extent, that CB is going to hang in there and not get "schooled" like he probably would in real life.
Thats not to say that lesser teams can't "hang in there". That should happen when the better team has turnovers, makes bad passes, etc. It shouldn't be b/c the lesser team went on an HGH binge and somehow is equal, if not superior, athletically, to the other team. It's sad that I fear playing a team like Fresno State just as much as I do Florida as I know they will get their attributes juiced.

In NCAA 12 I've noticed that overall ratings don't matter very much, for example you could have an overall 75 QB with passing ratings both in the high 80s and low 90's. So they are a beast when playing as them. Same hold true especially for HBs. I've played with Western Michigan and a 73 HB, and ended up a Heisman finalist based on the facts that they had 90+ speed and acceleration, so all that needed to be done was get through an opening in the line and they were free for the TD.
I've lowered my running sliders and still seem to be dominating the line of scrimage on AA difficulty, especially with the progression issues where I took a 4-8 Washington to 12-0 currently, with the massive progression my players received in the offseason.
I've lowered the speed threshold so my WRs can actually get open now against slower defenses, it is nice to see 1 or 2 long bombs be completed in a game.
