2015 NBA FINALS
Cavs (60-22) #1 seed in East vs Lakers (47-35) #4 seed in West
GAME 2
Irving shines in Game 2 victory
**GAME 2** Cavs win 119-91 (2-0)
- LeBron James - 35 points - 9 reb - 7 ast
- Kyrie Irving - 36 points - 4 reb - 5 ast
- Anderson Varejao - 4 points - 18 rebounds
- Roger Fox - 21 points - 6 reb - 2 ast
- Tyshawn Taylor - 20 points - 4 reb - 5 ast
- Dwight Howard - 16 points - 8 reb - 1 blk
- Kobe Bryant - 13 points - 4 reb - 5 ast - 4 stl
- After winning Game 1 by 18 points, the Cavaliers knew the Lakers would bring their "A Game" in Game 2 of the NBA Finals... That was the case, well, in the 1st half at least... The Lakers were actually leading in this game 53-50 at the half... In the 2nd half however, the Lakers totally fell apart, only scoring 41 points and shooting a terrible 32% from the field in the 2nd half... The Cavaliers cranked up the defensive pressure in the 2nd half and picked up their offensive game as well shooting 48% from the field... The Cavs outscored the lakers 69-41 in the 2nd half of the game.
Kyrie Irving was putting on a show vs 2nd year Laker PG Tyshawn Taylor... Irving put in 36 points on the night and dished out 5 assists... He was setting up his teammates all night long and, when he wasn't scoring or assisting, LeBron was taking care of the rest... LeBron's line for the night, 35 points - 9 reb - 7 ast has been a typical night in this playoff run for James... He's dropping over 30 points per game, and averaging nearly 8 rebounds and 8 assists... Nobody has put up numbers like that, on a nightly basis in a long time, if ever in NBA history...
A major question that's being asked in LA is WHERE IS DWIGHT HOWARD? In Game 1, Dwight only scored 10 points and had 6 rebounds, here in Game 2 he only scored 16 points and had 8 rebounds... Thats not going to get it done if the Lakers are going to turn things around in this series... They need Dwight to be "Dwight" and start dominating the game on both ends of the floor...
Also, in this game and series to this point, Kobe Bryant has been all but taken out of both games at the hands of LeBrons James' Defense... Kobe was held to 16 points on 5/20 shooting in Game 1, in Game 2, only 13 points on 6/24 shooting... Kobe didn't get to the foul line at all in Game 2, which is a shocker considering the game was played in Los Angeles... Its no secret that Kobe is older and less explosive than he used to be, but, I think its a bit surprising that LeBron has been able to completely take him out of the series so far...
The LA Lakers' backs are firmly against the wall now as they have to head to Cleveland for Games 3,4,5 (thanks 2k glitch)... Down 2-0, after losing the first two games of the series at home, I don't see any way the Lakers can prevent the inevitable... They are going to have to win 2 of 3 games, in Cleveland, where the Cavs have only lost 3 times all year (1 in playoffs to sixers)...
