Hopefully this will clear up any questions and comparisons of 2K and Madden. When you come to the line after calling a play in Madden , most of us are only half way in calling our play. In 2K you are locked in...except for maybe a hot route. Thats garbage ! For true football players (the nfl players prefer madden) and true fans , we want a TRUE game . A game where its a chess match at the line (true to nfl ) , where defensive hot routes are just as important as the called play . Those who play 2K are just kids or people who may not know much about football , at least thats the way it seems to me. Madden is for football minds where we understand its a game , you may get a player pass through a guy , or something weird happens once in a while. The fact is it happens to you it can happen for you . The ability to have a football game where you can show your knowledge and recognition of football scenarios at the line of scrimmage is enough for me.

I don't like the whole 2K v. EA thing. If you make a good sports(Hockey, Football, or Basketball) video game I'll buy it. NFL 2K5 was an amazing game for its time. Madden is finally coming around on the 360 after several disappointing years

2K has audibles and defensive hot routes.

What game are you playing?

And if Madden is such a paragon of strategy, why doesn't it let you pick your line stunts separately from your coverage packages, like 2K does?

I used to agree with you. Then Madden took away individual bumping, man lock and wr shading for the defense. Just to make things fair they took away formation shifts, custom hot routes, and audibles on the fly for the offense. We no longer have a game for men, we have a game for "casual fans".
