With sports games i'm more of an offline gamer due to lag being a bigger issue in sports games than any other types of games. Each inch, each fraction of a second is crucial when playing online sports games. Lag will always be an issue with me for online sports gaming. Until there is a major breakthough or invention that eliminates lag, i'll always be an offline sports gamer.
Playing against the AI (artificial intelligence or CPU) sometimes makes the difficulty rather predictable, too easy, or too hard. Everyone has a different skill level on a certain game which makes posting sliders seem unhelpful at times. To me having a game too easy isnt very fun to me and Im a competitive guy that likes to be challenged. I dont like playing Madden knowing that every week i'm going to win the game. The only question is by how much and what kind of ungodly stats will i compile. Finding the competitive balance in games is a battle in itself.
Every year i but NCAA Football, Madden, and MLB The Show. Every year i stuggle to find that balance where i'll be happy with the game. Playing RTTS in MLB The Show is a little different because you have a small contributing part of the outcome of a win or loss. At the same time i dont want to be hitting .430 and slugging 60 HR's either. Nor do i want to hit .200 with 200+ K's. For NCAA, finding the balance is more difficult. Mainly because all 120 teams are nowhere near equals as far as talent goes. Some weeks you will know that you will dominate, but thats ok...thats college football. Hopefully when Madden 12 comes out later this year the dynamic player ratings from week to week will give the user a different expirence every week of the season. Knowing that your team wont play the same week in and week out is a step in the right direction.
My first blog is now complete. Thank you.
