Cowboys Upset (9/7/09)
The patch dropped at a perfect time between season 91 and 92; it has already given the computer 3 casualties over human opponets this season. The Cowboys amped to attempt a national title run were halted in their tracks today by the Kansas State Wildcats 22-10. It appears that OSU may have overlooked the 0-1 Cats coming into the game. The Cowboys explosive offense look enimic all day turning the ball over 4 times in the game. Shocking for fans of coach Boxboy whom are used to seeing his teams turn the ball over just a handful of times each season. Cate has thrown more interceptions this season than Robinson did the entire last season. KState actually looks solid on paper with two bookend DE's at 94 overall, very good at the skilled positions, and a great offensive line. The Cowboys young line has struggled this season which feature 3 underclassmen and 2 VHT freshmen. Robbie Franklin, top recruit in the nation, played a solid game at free saftey and had a nasty hit forced fumble on KSU running back Logan Dold; the play was one of the few bright spots on the day.
The Cowboys next opponet after a bye week is against Texas (Connerbanks), Texas is also coming off a CPU loss to the Nebraska Cornhuskers. This will be the boys opening game in Big East play which features six consecutive games against human opponets and a chance to defend the Big East championship.
End of Season 10/27/09
The Cowboys had a terrible season finishing last in the Big East a year following a conference championship. Miami won the Big East and earned a rematch against conference rival Ohio State in the Nation Title game. Miami won round one 17-7. Oklahoma faces New Mexico in a bowl. USC against former conference rival Washington in the Emerald bowl. Florida faces Fresno in the Armed forces bowl.
Kendall Hunter couldn't stay healthy again this season and it really hurt the struggling Cowboys. Senior Cate started the season at quarterback but was replaced by Soph. Brandon Weeden at midseason because of poor play by the senior. The team sputtered all season losing two games to the computer which is I believe one more than coach Boxboy lost all year to the CPU on the NCAA 09 game.
It looks like we have a coaching change in the Mega as Coach Conner Banks looks to be out in Texas. Sgt. Pickle is expected to take over next season. It makes be tough times in Austin as young Pickle comes to play with the big boys.
