"It's Going To Be A Blowout"

Audio blog today covers the weekend that was in my life. The main thing I wanted to address was that I left my flag football game wondering if I was pissed or not at the head official. We had the battle for #1 on Sunday afternoon. My team went into the game 5-1 playing the only undefeated team (6-0) for the #1 see to the playoffs. Now my team looks pathetic. We don't have real jerseys, we have some guys that look out of shape, and we aren't intimidating. Fortunately we're good. We have a bunch of guys that played football in college and understand the game. Our only loss came on a night when we didn't have enough people show up to the game and lost by one td playing a man down. Anyways at the start of the game my buddy and I went out to meet the other teams captains and get our coin toss on. After the toss we shook hands and started walking to the sideline. The other team stayed at midfield and were talking to the official who thought we couldn't hear him and said, "Well this is going to be a blowout, get this over so I can go home." Well we weren't out of hearing range and I was pissed. But should I have been?? I mean it's just flag football on a Sunday and really this guy isn't going to affect the game unless he REALLY blatantly starts throwing bad flags. At the same time each team pays $800 to play in the league and expect a bit of professionalism. Well my stupid mouth got the best of me and I walked back to midfield and started jawing with him and the other team and wouldn't let it drop all game (this was probably stupid but I enjoyed it). We did win the game 42-6 so I guess he was right but just had the teams switched.
