After acquiring Carmelo Anthony and JR Smith from the Nuggets just before the trade deadline, the Washington Wizards just missed the playoffs despite going on a 22-6 run to finish the season.
The Boston Celtics went on to defeat the San Antonio Spurs in five games for the NBA Title. The Spurs upset the defending champion LA Lakers in a 7-game series in the Western Conference Finals, while the Celtics surprisingly shut out the Lebron James-led Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Rajon Rondo won the Finals MVP, nearly averaging a triple-double in the playoffs with 15.1 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 11.5 apg, and 3.3 spg.
