Nets Deal Stale, Wizards Zero In On Melo
Rumors including Gilbert Arenas and future draft picks for Nuggets star
With the Nets unable to reach a deal in a 3-way trade with the Utah Jazz and Denver Nuggets to receive Carmelo Anthony, it appears the Wizards have closed in on the unhappy star.
The trade seems reasonable for both sides, especially for Carmelo Anthony who has been open about his desire to return to the east coast and play closer to home- Baltimore, Maryland- just 40 miles from Washington, DC.
Melo also has admitted he likes the idea of playing with his childhood hero Michael Jordan and a potential future All-NBA point guard John Wall.
Denver would most likely receive guard Gilbert Arenas- a former All-Star that could benefit from a fresh start- along with a role player such as Al Thornton and one or more draft picks.
