We all know what needs to be fixed, and we all know it wont, and thats no surprise anymore. But every year madden sales millions of copies, yet anytime you go online the average players online is about 24,000 for me. So where are all those other several million players? Its sad when more people i knew, in higschool on ps2 played madden online, compared to playing madden online now, which wasnt easy on ps2 compared to ps3. Granted Madden 04 is still the best madden, and yet Madden hasn't done anything to blow away NFL 2K5. There's still people that download current rosters for 2k5, i even did it last season. So will we ever see a madden blow 2K5 away? Idk bc when Madden 13 ships, its fair game for whoever makes the next NFL game bc EAs deal is done. And with the NFL talking to 2K for the last couple years, and Madden only received a one year extension to even make M'13, is it time to give someone else a shot who actually listens and cares about there fans just not the $$$$ like EA?

Madden needs to definitely improve, but I enjoy the game and buy it most years. I'm one of the millions that bought M12 but you wouldn't see me online, never been much of a online gamer when it comes to sports games. All I care about is offline Franchise. Also, NFL 2k5 is over-rated, it did somethings great but it had it's many flaws. And can you really blame Madden, people love to bash Madden but they just sale more and more.

If 2k5 is overrated then what exactly is madden??? The game was made in 05 and is still more advanced in a lot of areas than madden 12... Just sayin

How is Madden over-rated? I don't see anyone saying how great Madden is and saying that any Madden is the best game. People just keep saying that 2k5 is better and is the best game. How is 2k5 more advanced? I liked 2k5 myself, but is it better then Madden now? No I don't think so. Is there stuff wrong with Madden? Oh yeah there is, but I am able to except that it's a game and will not be perfect. 2k5 was far from perfect and so is every other game.

To answer your question about where all those millions of buyers went... When Madden ships, they send many dozens of copies to various stores. Your local Gamestop might get 50 -100 copies. Gamestop has purchased those copies at wholesale from EA. But not all of those copies are actually sold to the customer. Perhaps as many as half are returned to EA as refunds, back-orders etc, just unsold. EA can say that they actually sold millions when in reality, that number is exaggerated.

2k5 had ideas about franchise mode that Madden didn't, like scheduling practice and setting up a weekly gameplan for the team your team was to play that week, but the same could be said about Madden and being able to move your team to different cities. I think what 2k fans are trying to say is, where would NFL football 2k12 be if not for the exclusive license and Madden 12 as well if not for the license. I for one, enjoyed both 2k5 and Madden 05, they were both great games IMO

It is the only option, that is one reason why so many copies are sold. Another reason is most people arent "sim" game players. they just wanna play some NFL football with their favorite team. and i wouldnt be too excited about their license ending as i would be shocked if they didnt up it for years to come.

example, my little brother is 10 and he loves the recent copy of madden. he doesnt notice the db/wr interaction is bad or super linebackers. he just likes playing games with his favorite team and im sure the vast majority feel this way. as sim players we can say all day that we are gonna stop purchasing madden, and even if we do, its gonna have little effect on the sales of madden.
