Well it depends. If you're a TRUE SIM GAMER.... then it's probably not for you.
I find it has qualities that make it fun, but yet semi-realistic.
It's not the worst game though. I think people give it not so great reviews because they've come out with so many Madden's people are subconsciously sick of them lol.

Honestly though.... I'd save my money for other games this year... then when your wallet recovers buy Madden 13. Which will be a better version of 12. Just my opinion

My opinion is not to buy. If you haven't bought a Madden game in 2 years I would either hold out till this game is under $20 or wait until Madden 13. Football is my favorite sport but Madden is my least favorite sports video game. NHL12, NBA2K12, MLB the Show, FIFA are better representations of the real sport. Madden misses on even basic football plays. If you like seeing a punted ball hit a guy at the 2 yard line, roll into the end zone, and then give it to your opponent on the 2, or if you like not being able to specifically challenge plays, or if you like unrealistic LB play, then this is the game for you. If you like sim football stay clear because you will be sorely disappointed. I bought the game and Day 1, played all modes including Ultimate Team, accumulated 2.5 million coins, and was giddy to trade it in for $27 at Best Buy.

Madden 2012 is like all other maddens. There really is nothing special about madden this year. The commentary is off and the corners are psychic still. The linebackers can jump higher than Kris Jenner. If you love football, then you basically deal with the issues and play for fun.

As for I have Madden 08, 09, 10, 11, and 12. 12 is a good game, with 11 I never finished a single season just couldn't get into it this Madden on the hand keeps me playing despite its flaws. Most gameplay flaws have been in madden almost forever with the problem being UDFA and commentary, so to each their own.

I would recommend it. It's a def upgrade from madden 11 and is fun. Alas it still has issues but for only 40$ I would get it Fo sho. Though I have to say madden 09 is still my fav madden

I say just wait it out till the next generation of systems...madden has been the same since madden 10...

I had it and sold it because it was no fun.

I say buy it BUT not for $60. It's worth $40 at most.

My first few games were bad, could not control offense or defense very well. I practiced with mini games ALOT. I would say this game is enjoyable now and I look forward to playing it.

I would add though to give yourself at least 2-3 weeks of playing time before you decide to rush it or flush it.

IMA 2K fan BTW.

Madden is it for sports gamers especially if you want real human competition online. Online it crushes 2k. It's not even close.

This is the best Madden in a long time. If you loved Madden in the past you will almost certainly love this game imo.

The game is good for about one virtual season. By the end of that season youll most likely be tired of the game.
IMO the game falls short on replayability.

I have it,play it only in online franchise as I cannot bring myself to play it anymore than that,too many other great games ahead of this one.Super human linebackers,defensive backs and safeties adjusting to balls while wide receiver doesn't has me wanting to toss my controller.This series needs to be completely revamped IMHO.
