Angels Ruin Twins Home Opener 8-4

Albert Pujols collected 4 hits including two doubles in the Halos 8-4 win.

Albert Pujols went 4 for 5 with 2 doubles and an RBI, and Mark Trumbo launched his second home run of the year to lead the Halos to a 8-4 win over Minnesota in the Twins home opener. Angels starter Ervin Santana worked his way in and out of trouble to earn his first win of the season.

Twins starter Nick Blackburn struggled in his first start of the year. Blackburn lasted just 4 1/3 innings while giving up 7 hits and 5 earned runs. Justin Morneau broke out of his early season slump by hitting a 2 run home run off of Angels relieve Scott Downs in the bottom of the 9th.

After an off day the two teams will resume the 3 game series.
