EA Sports

The time has come, for better or worse, that we must all get behind EA Sports. With the decline of 2Ksports and no other competitors in earshot, EA has a stranglehold on the market for sports games. 2Ksports and SCEA make NBA and Baseball games currently, but 2K is dropping titles every year and now only are producing NBA 2K and MLB 2K (unfortunately) and it seems as if those who are in charge @ 2K are either not business savy or have given up on trying to please the customers in their sports categories. SCEA makes the best baseball game around, but their NBA franchise is on ice (available for PSP only) and their NFL Gameday series is a victim, like 2Ks football, of another exclusive contract.

That pretty much leaves EA Sports who produce Madden, NCAA Football, Fight Night, FIFA ( PES being their sole competition), etc. IF its a sport, chances are they have a game for it. I wish and long for the days of having the chance to choose between 4-5 games in each category, but that is pretty much a thing of the past thanks to several agreements that leave EA as the beneficiary.

So what are we to do as gamers? Well, we can either keep playing old titles until they are no longer supported online/not working and manually updating the rosters, or we can move with the behemoth that has become EA Sports. Once upon a time EA's titles were top notch and not missing basic game modes that we all love to play. But currently, we have to almost beg for a "good" presentation after almost 6years into the so-called "Next-Gen", and we are waiting year after year for features that were present in last-gen versions or have been purposely stripped away from current versions....supposedly under construction.

Well, here is to you EA, you have bought out the competition, and no we are almost "exclusively" left with your products. May your games: NBA Live 11, MAdden 11, NCAA Football/Basketball 11, FIFA 11, etc etc, be as rich and deep in features as your companies legacy. We look forward to great sports games: The time is now for you to deliver a GREAT finished product. No half done beta products, we want a finished game.

And as far as features go for your Madden/NBA Live/NCAA Football Series......and the NCAA basketball: IF WE SEE IT ON SUNDAY.......IF IT HAPPENS IN THE GAME.......we want it in the game. Live by your Motto. We'll be judging you by it.

Wishing the BEst!!!!!

If EA developed a plan to concentrate only on madden and NCAA (basketball and football) just like 2K concentrates on NBA2K and how Sony concentrates on MLB the Show, then MAYBE things will get better. Check out my blog entry in my arena titled: "A letter to developers; take a page from sony" for my full view on the subject.
