Top forwards Jack Eichel and Sam Reinhart look to have brilliant futures themselves in Sabres jerseys for years to come. The expected top four defensemen of the future for Buffalo of Rasmus Ristolainen, Tyler Myers, Noah Hanifin, and Nikita Zadorov has become a "Power Five" of top defensive prospects with the surprising development of offensive defeseman Chad Ruhwedel. Goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy established himself as Buffalo's top netminder midway through last season, and he looks to improve his efforts in the crease as one of the top young goalies in the league. As great as a playoff berth was for Buffalo fans last year, the disappointment of a quick first round exit left Sabres nation wanting more. The Sabres look to capitalize on all-around improved play to make a run in the postseason.
