The big story of the week in College Football has to be the saga of Matt Sluka, the QB for the undefeated UNLV Rebels. Depending on your general take on life, you are either totally against this or totally for it. For me, I’m all for it. After years and years of players being taken advantage of, it is about time that the tables have turned. If you promise something, you had better be prepared to deal with the consequences of failing on said promise. I understand the team aspect and leaving your buddies behind, but a true leader will call out the bull**** and that’s exactly what Sluka did here.
Week 4 Results and News -
* 6-3 for the day including the Pick of the Week, which is now an incredible 10-1.
* Michigan was able to regain a bit of its lost Mojo this past weekend with a big home victory against USC. The Wolverines play Minnesota this week.
* Arch Manning made his long awaited college debut, looking pretty solid against Louisiana-Monroe.
* North Carolina gave up a billion points against James Madison. They played so poorly, Hall of Fame Coach Mack Brown tried to retire at halftime. Seriously.
* Oklahoma QB Jackson Arnold, the #1 rated QB prospect in this year’s class, got benched in the 2nd half against Tennessee. Backup played good enough to create a bit of QB controversy.
* Clemson is starting to look like a title contender again in the ACC. After getting their doors blown off in week one, they have responded strongly in the past 3 weeks.
Saturday Slate
USC -14 over Wisconsin – USC bounces back partially because its East traveling West but also because Wisconsin blows
Wake Forest -2.5 over Louisiana – one predictor I use has Wake by almost 31 points.
Kansas over TCU – Home team, slight dog. We all know how serious Kansas takes dogs. This was a Wizard of Oz reference.
SMU -3.5 over Florida State – I’m sorry FSU fans, I’ve been on the Mustangs all season and I’m not stopping here.
Colorado + 16.5 over UCF – Deion’s KFC commercial spot why I’m taking the Buffs here. I’m kidding, it’s the Sags number that has UCF almost 7 points over.
Duke -2.5 over UNC – Mack Brown should have just retired last game, would save them a buyout.
Central Michigan -2.5 over San Diego State – Marshall Faulk ain’t walking thru that door.
Notre Dame -5 over Louisville – Biggest test for the Cardinals this season, but unfortunately for them, Notre Dame has already suffered their humiliating home defeat this season, and it’s not going to happen twice in September.
Eddie Brackets Playoff plus 1 Rankings

4) Tennessee
5) Ole Miss
6) Miami
7) Oregon
8) Alabama
9) Mizzou
10) Penn St
11) Michigan
12) Utah

LAST WEEK’S PICK RESULTS – As I bragged about, the POTW won out again and is now 10-1. Ole Miss is riding in a pretty sweet spot right now as a definite contender in the SEC but still not getting dissected on the weekly TV shows.
PICK OF THE WEEK – I can’t believe that 5 weeks into the season and Indiana has become money. They are 4-0 Straight up AND against the Spread. Vegas HAS to catch up. They play Maryland this week who is sort of sneaking around being decent. Vegas finally starts to fade Indiana correctly, take Maryland +8
