Week 2 Results – money moves / Week 3 Picks – Road Warriors!

Week Two Results – 6-1 on money plays (picks made at counter of Sports book or Casino) and 15-5 for the day. I guess it’s time for me to tell you that the picks that I make on Thursday can definably change before the money is laid on Saturday morning. In fact, the lines change thru the week and is one of the biggest factors when it comes to making a good Saturday play. Let’s take for example the weekends biggest upset.

At the beginning of the week, Notre Dame was a strong 33.5-point favorite over Northern Illinois. 4 out of 5 prediction methods said the spread was actually anywhere from 15-23 and thru the week the number dropped like a rock. What happened was that the smart money started coming strong on the underdog and Vegas was attempting to offset it by dropping the number hoping to find the bottom. I think the game-time line had fallen all the way down to somewhere around 21. When you see a number that does nothing but drop until kickoff, then Vegas has something inside this game. The numbers that change the most, I may take a little break back into that game and re-evaluate.

I know that I stated in my Thursday picks that I liked Colorado +8.5 but that number kept slipping and slipping to the point where I myself had to say that Eddie Brackets is a crazy *** cracker and took Nebraska at game time. Winner!

Every damn Saturday Pete Thamel comes on College Game Day and tells us about some injury that a coaching staff had managed to hide from every breathing person and to stay away from that pick. You would be a wise man to listen to his injury report the Saturday that a game is played vs a blog written by a jackass 3 days prior.

This week is a strange one. Only 2 games are featuring ranked opponents, one of them Friday night. There are 19 road favorites (36% of the total games) and so there are plenty of chances to make some cash.

Saturday Slate
UCLA +3 over Indiana – UCLA is a home underdog and Indiana is Indiana.
Alabama -15.5 over Wisconsin – The slow exit for Luke Fickle starts this season
Georgia St +11 over Vanderbilt – I’m starting to wonder what they are putting in Vandy’s water
Georgia -22.5 over Kentucky – Kentucky picked the wrong time to struggle.
LSU -6 over South Carolina – This one is creeping up over a TD.
Tulane +14.5 over Oklahoma – Not sure if Oklahoma can even win this one straight up
Colorado -4.5 over Colorado State – Did you know, coach Prime is missing almost all his toes?
Maryland ML Virginia – Spread here has been all over the place. Go money line
Notre Dame -9.5 over Purdue – **** Purdue

LAST WEEK’S PICK RESULTS – Big Game letdown is the so very real. After a week of hearing that their **** don’t stink and after getting all the drugs and booze and women (or men…no judgment) Notre Dame was in real danger of big game letdown and that is exactly what happened making Eddie Brackets an incredible 8-1 on POTW.
PICK OF THE WEEK – It has to be UCLA +3 over Indiana. Indiana is the armpit of College Football. Traveling all the way across the county. Right? Well I know someone who disagrees with that statement and his name is Rudy. Rudy thinks I’ve been hating on the Hoosiers for the past consecutive 47 years and feels I need to stop and respect this team. So I have decided to give away a “Pick of the Week” with a firm understanding that this is not the views of Eddie Brackets or any sponsors that may be affiliated. Take it away Rudy….
“Well to be honest, this smacks of a trap game. Going all the way out to California after a couple big wins (ED note – a D2 team and the 87th ranked D1 team) but at least it is not a super early or super late kick time. They did look pretty solid on Defense and we all know that defense travels. (ED note – bragging about Indiana’s defense made me throw up in my mouth a little) I’d take Indiana -3 for the lock of the day”
