NBA 2K CHALLENGE: If you had 1 suggestion, just 1, for NBA 2k13: what would it be?

[moved from the forums with permission]

Here's a toughie.

There are lots of things wrong with 2k12 and there's just so many things that tick everyone off...

But if you were allowed to voice one thing, just one, for 2K to see, what would it be?

You have one suggestion. Just one. Use it wisely. Use it on something that they'll neglect. Use it on a deal breaker for you!

Keep it simple, like a sentence or two (perhaps follow my example and elaborate in a separate paragraph).

Imagine if you had 1 minute to pitch your idea to a business executive, aka an elevator pitch

Ready? Set! GO!!!

Here's what I think:

Lots of people ere are clear fundamental flaws in the gameplay. The freelancing sucks big time. The CPU does make adjustments but this needs to be fine tuned. The passing. That's three things right there already...however...

...because I know 2k is already going to look at gameplay, I'm not going to use my one suggestion for stuff that they'll probably improve...(plus sliders help a bunch). I'm going to use it one something that they'll definitely overlook and will definitely come back and piss me off again.

Which is why my suggestion will be......*drum roll*...

Take a look at EA NHL's potential system....give a player a certain grade for potential like A,B,C "A" potnetial players have too keep up a certain amount of stats every year to keep that "A" grade if they fall below for a year they drop in a potential grade vice versa for a "C" graded player going up

Signature player models. They gave us signature shots/dunks/layups/free throws/post ups/fadeaways/dribble moves all unique to a specific player. Now take it a step further and do signature player models. It always throws me off to see Kevin Durant with thick legs in this game hahaha! Bring back adjustable sliders for various body parts like the old 2K basketball games had. Oh and the shoes look like boots. Fix that as well.

a Gm mode where you handle all the decision for your team and if you dont live up to the owner expectation you get fired.

Build or license a brand new engine that is polished and fundamentally sound in both simulation-gameplay and online multiplayer performance.

dynamic block, physic, no canimation engine, redo the entire engine, 2k11 had perfect block system!

What I love about NHL 12 is the ability to play through a full junior career in the Be A Pro mode before getting drafted. With a College Hoops return nowhere in sight, I'd like the option to play through a college career in the My Player mode.

Two words.....better controls.
Couldn't emphasize that enough.

I'm an Association player mostly, and one thing that NEEDS to be addressed is coaching changes. After about year 5 every team, regardless of success, changes their coach every off-season. All coaches are signed to one year deals and theres no continuity. You also can't promote your top assistant to head coach. Please fix the unrealistic coaching carousel and add the ability to promote your assistant as well as have teams sign good coaches to multi-year deals. No team should win a championship and then replace their coach!

A lot of additions to passing. 2k is an iso-friendly game. One on one play has so many moves and options. I would like it to emphasis team play just as much. Let us pick what pass we can do: bounce, lob, wraparound, the speed of it. Don't make the receiver move when he is passed to or bobble it unrealistically. Minimize the random factor of the pass. Give us control. Make this as much a team game as much as it is an iso game.
