Top 5 Incoming Freshmen

1) Timo Cruz, Maryland Terrapins

Timo Cruz will join a talented group at Maryland

Timo Cruz is an outstanding talent. He can get to the basket as fast as anyone I've ever seen, and has lightning quick hands. He uses excellent ball-handling and one-on-one moves to break down defenses and opposing defenders. Cruz has a big frame, great speed, and explosive quickness and leaping ability. He needs to work on his outside jumpshot some because he isn't consistent from there. His pros heavily beat his cons however, and he will be a huge asset for Maryland.

2) Petey Chambers, Georgetown Hoyas

Chambers is outstanding in the low post

Petey Chambers is incredible. He is an excellent scorer with good mental toughness. For being 7'0 tall, he has an amazingly soft touch. He has a beautiful turnaround jumpshot, and he gets to the line well while shooting at a solid clip. He has the potential to be one of the best passing big men in the NCAA as well. Extremely long wingspan makes him a terrific shot blocker and rebounder.

3) Junior Battle, Georgetown Hoyas

Junior Battle and Petey Chambers will be unstopable this season

The Hoyas will be too good this year. They will overmatch just about anyone they play down low because of Junior Battle and Petey Chambers. Teams will have a tough time scoring inside against Battle as he is a terrific defensive player and shot blocker. He has a good head on his shoulders, is very competitive, smart and is an unselfish player. Solid post up game, even though though it is not his greatest strength. His 6'10 frame make him an excellent rebounder as well. A 6'10 power forward paired up with a 7'0 scoring center; Count me out!

4) Chris Singleton, North Carolina Tarheels

Two words: Floor General

Chris Singleton's game is similar to Chris Paul's. He is lightning quick and is almost impossible to stay in front of. He can play above the rim despite his lack of height. Doesn’t have an imposing frame, but compensates with great heart and athleticism; he plays bigger than he is. He could turn in to one of the best passers in the game with great vision and high basketball IQ. Outstanding scorer when offense is needed, as he drain drain outside shots. Singleton plays tremendous defense when motivated because of his quick hands.

5) Sean Webb, Villanova Wildcats

Webb is excited to make an impact for the wildcats this season

This kid is one of my favorites coming into the league. Although he is very limited athletically, he is a true gamer with exceptional basketball knowledge and skills. He will rebound well because he is a wide body that knows the positioning game well. He will struggle defensively against athletic bigs because his lack of athleticism, but he can match up them mentally even if he cannot match up will them physically. He and Chris Kramer will make quite the dynamic duo in Villanova this season.
