THE BOSTON GLOBE (RED SOX DYNASTY REPORT)

CLEVELAND, OH - With August coming to a close, things couldn't be better for the Red Sox. A 19-3 record in August has stunned everyone and put Boston in the AL East drivers seat. A sudden explosion in offense, along with their already excellent pitching, has helped turn this season around. A trip to Cleveland, and a date with Danny Salazar, probably wouldn't do much to slow down Chris Archer or the red hot Boston hitters.

Will Middlebrooks started things off in the 2nd inning with a solo-HR, and then Mookie Betts did the same in the 3rd. Dustin Pedroia made it 3-0 Boston with an RBI double after a Xander Bogaerts double to head into the bottom of the 3rd up 3-0.

Archer had little trouble going through the Indians lineup, once again his slider was working for him and keeping the walks down. Salazar managed to hold things together through the 4th, but the 5th inning basically ended the game. After putting two men on with no outs in the 5th Salazar was benched in favor of Josh Beckett. Jakcie Bradley Jr. started things of with an RBI single followed by a Boagerts RBI single and Shane Victorino capped off the carnage with a 3R-HR.

Cleveland had nothing left in the tank, and Archer breezed through 7 scoreless innings with 16K. Today's win gives Boston a sizable AL East lead, but they couldn't possibly continue winning at this pace.
