THE BOSTON GLOBE (RED SOX DYNASTY REPORT)

SEATTLE, WA - It's deja vu all over again as Chris Archer took the mound today against the Mariners again, this time it's at SafeCo Field. Felix Hernandez would get his shot at revenge, and with Boston still struggling to hit he would probably get his way. At this point in the season Boston probably isn't "struggling" or "cold", the team is going to have to accept that they just aren't good on offense this year.

Things were looking up for the Red Sox when a Xander Bogaerts sac fly in the 3rd gave them a 1-0. Most teams wouldn't lean on a single run lead, but Archer was absolutely on fire today no hitting the Mariners through the 3rd. Hernandez struggled with his command, and thanks to his inability to get ahead in the count he couldn't get out of the 6th. Shane Victorino and David Ortiz each hit solo-HR off Hernandez, both on 3-1 counts, and Hernandez took a seat after 5.2IP.

Boston was practically high-fiving themselves up 3-0, especially with Archer carrying a no-hitter through the 6th. Unfortunately for Boston, the BB Monster reared it ugly head and Archer put two on in the 7th with Carlos Quentin coming up. Archer had him on a 2-2 count and tried to sneak a fastball high and inside, but Quentin was waiting for it and parking the ball in the stands for a 3R-HR that tied the game.

Quetin's three-run shot killed Boston.

Archer came back out for the 8th, hoping to staunch the bleeding and give Boston a shot at scoring, but things only got worse. Archer walked two more, bringing his total to 4, and Robinson Cano hit an RBI single to give Seattle the lead. Jackie Bradley Jr. capped of the horrible inning by blowing a "can of corn" pop fly that would have ended the inning but instead became a 2RBI triple for Corey Hart. Boston had nothing and Seattle cruised to an easy 6-3 victory.
