THE BOSTON GLOBE (RED SOX DYNASTY REPORT)

BOSTON, MA - Boston fans were in for a treat today with the Seattle Mariners coming to Fenway. On the mound opposite Chris Archer would be Felix Hernandez. This was going to be a rough game for Boston, and it would put even more pressure on Archer to keep them in the game.

Things started off poorly for Boston with Shane Victorino fouling up a ball to RF that turned into a Willie Bloomquist double. Robinson Cano followed it up with a double of his own to make it 1-0 right off the bat. Dustin Pedroia evened the score in the bottom of the 1st with a solo-HR and we were back at a pitchers duel.

Until the 7th Archer and Hernandez combined to allow five hits between them. Luckily for Boston, things would finally go their way in the bottom of the inning. With Will Middlebrooks on 1st David Ortiz would hammer a 2R-HR that bounded off Pesky's Pole to give the Red Sox a 3-1 lead and knock King Felix out of the game.

Big Papi... so clutch.

Archer would go 8 innings and strike out 15 Mariners, another stunning performance. Uehara would come in and easily lock up the win. Despite Archer's performance the hero of the day was Pedroia, who went 3/4 with a HR and a SB.
