With Goings, Hackett, and Bridges gone, and rumors circulating that Lucas will be traded things could start to get interesting. With the Panthers also looking to get rid of Peppers Green Bay becomes a possible trade partner. They need a DE willing to play in their new 3-4 defense, and Pep has been wanting to go to a 3-4 defense. Green Bay also wants a good DB to fill in for their aging DBs, and Lucas makes some sense here, it's really not idea given the fact that he's 30 this year.

Even then, what do the Panthers get out of the deal? I don't think Green Bay is going to give up their 1st this year, but may be 2 their 2 3rd rounders and a conditional pick next year a long with a player, but who do you take? I would think Green Bay would want to unload somebody their paying a decent amount of money too if this deal went down. Possibly Brohm, but with Carolina's 3 QBs is that a deal they'd be interested in?

They need a QB b/c if Jake couldnt get it done last season then he never will.

Yes, they definitely need a new QB. J.D. is good but is known to have horrible games. If i were them i would try and experiment with there backups a little more and give them some experience. I would also love to see the panthers pick up an offensive linemen in the draft to boost the running game even more as well as protect an overrated quarterback. And possibly even pick up a free agent receiver. I've heard that there will be some talented receivers in the free agency this year

I think Jake Delhomme will have a good year next season. This was his first year back from nearly a year off, there was bound to be a little rust. If he returns to the form from the 2007 season we're sitting pretty.

I'd really like to re-sign Hangartner to a long term deal with him replacing and possible starting over Vincent this season. Vincent only has 1 more year left on his contract.

Our defensive line sure needs some work. I like Brayton where he's at, and I like Charles Johnson too, but I don't think he's going to be an every down player. Kemo does solid job, but Lewis is inconsistant. Peppers looks to be gone, so we have huge hole there, and we need to upgrade over Lewis. There isn't a whole lot of depth either.

My view of our D-line is a little more sunny the most people, but I think a lot of our problems revolved around not blitzing enough.

I agree with the Delhomme situation but it never hurts to have your back ups prepared in case he continues to screw up. And your right about the d-line as well we have some big shoes to fill and i believe we need a better Defensive Coordinator, or at least one that doesn't blow coverage because i beleive our secondary is great but i've seen a few too many bad calls be him.
