The NFL season has come and gone. In the past that meant we had to get our football fix via Madden, highlights, or some other football outlet. This year things may be better with the start of the XFL season this weekend. I have my fingers crossed in hopes that we get a better product than that rushed AAF. With all that being said this is a video game blog.
So my mind instantly rushed (football pun) to what a different option for a football game could look like. I'm not a madden ***** or apologist.I play the game and for better or worse I accept it for what it is. But deep in the back of my head I believe the people at 2K has been secretly making NFL games every year that they couldn't publish. Only a few, very luck people get to play it.
They might have upgraded the animations, graphics, and did the roster adjustments of NFL 2k5.
The reason that this, I guess we can call a conspiracy of mine could be beneficial is because they already have everything they need for a great football game. They would only need something to attach it to.
Which brings me to my next point. For any of this to matter, the XFL has to do well. If the first season does great numbers, 2K can scoop up the rights to make a game based on the league. So after the first season the game could be on the shelves before the second.
I don't have many concerns other than if one of the teams out of the NLF's market does very well, as in numbers and skill the NFL does come calling and boom just like that theres an expansion team in the NFL and the XFL is down a team.
Hey but all of this is hypothetical. What do you think? Would you like to see an XFL game just to have a second option as a football game?
