Noah Weber is back this week with more NCAA Football 09 strategy, this week he takes a look at the running game. Check out Noah's thoughts on how to instantly improve your run game and be sure to add your own tips!

Quote:
"Establishing a solid run game is an important part of any offense. If you can make the defense respect your ability to gain yards on the ground, you can create opportunities for yourself in the air. By efficiently mixing things up, the defense will always be on their toes, and that is the first step towards victory."

The Wildcat formation is one of the newest and most innovative offensive formations in college football. The University of Arkansas used the offense to near perfection with Running Back Darren McFadden at the helm. Unfortunately with the departure of coach Houston Nutt and McFadden, the Razorbacks no longer feature the offense in their playbook. However, three teams in NCAA Football do and our very own Noah Weber is here to take a look at the formation and how to run it to perfection. Check out his article Running the Wildcat in NCAA Football 09.

Quote:
"Darren McFadden would line up at quarterback in a modified shotgun formation, a receiver would come in motion, and they would run any number of plays that involved snapping the ball directly to either McFadden or the motion back, and then running, passing, or both."

Noah Weber checks in this week in a continuation of his defensive strategy series. This week Noah takes a look at playing the linebacker position in NCAA Football.

Quote:
"Your goal as a run-stopper is to pick the right gap and plug it. Depending on which LB spot you pick (middle, left outside, right outside), as well as your assignment for the play, you will have a greater responsibility to defend certain gaps. Think about where your player needs to be to ensure that his duties are accounted for while still affording you the opportunity to make a play."

After last week's look at the safety position, Noah Weber checks in this week with another take on a defensive position. This week it is the corner back, perhaps the most difficult position to play in football video games. Check out his article, NCAA Football Defensive Strategy: Cornerback.

Quote:
"Cornerback is by far the most difficult position to operate from in a video game. The primary reason is that the corner is often off-screen, or is assigned to cover a receiver who may spend much of a play completely out of view. Combined with the massive amount of responsibility that comes with the position, one should only elect to manually control a corner if they are looking for a challenge. That being said, the reward for playing it well can be worth the risk. Here are a few tips to help you manage the hot corner, start locking down receivers, and begin jumping passes to take picks back to the house for six."

With NCAA Football 09 right around the corner, you have probably noticed we are starting to release some football strategy articles to prepare you for NCAA Football 09. Today is no different as our very own Noah Weber takes a look at playing the safety position in NCAA Football.

Quote:
"Against the pass, playing safety allows you to be in a position to disrupt the greatest number of passes, and offers the opportunity to make impact plays on the defensive side of the ball. If you seize your opportunities, safety is a position of glory -- but it is also a position of great responsibility. One mistake could spell a very long and embarrassing touchdown for your opponent. Here are a few tips to help you run as the safety in NCAA and Madden."

There has been a lot of hype surrounding Fight Night Round 4 lately. Noah Weber has put together an interesting article called Fight Night Round 4: The Perfect Career Mode where he gives EA advice on how to create, you guessed it, the perfect career mode.

Quote:
"Another really important feature that’s been missing from EA’s boxing games is rankings. There is no excuse for not having a dynamic rankings system. By focusing on this, EA could open up the entire career mode experience immensely. Instead of offering us a few choices at a time, the game could allow us to schedule our own fights based on the rankings system."

Noah Weber checks in today with a look at what he is looking forward to with Fight Night Round 4.
Quote:
"EA’s Fight Night Round 3 was one of the best sports games in recent memory. The controls were innovative, the gameplay was fun, and the graphics are still among the best we’ve seen on the next-gen consoles. Nevertheless, the game still had some drawbacks. The lack of relevant licensed boxers was slightly discouraging, with certain obvious omissions like Floyd Mayweather, Jr. and Mike Tyson being most notable. Furthermore, while the Total Punch Control system was extremely well executed, there was little advantage to using it over the buttons, which allowed for faster and more responsive punching. Also, the heavy emphasis on cartoonish haymaker punches was for many a step in the wrong direction as far as gameplay was concerned."

In his debut OS article, Noah Weber, has put together a list of sports that would make great video games.

Quote:
We all know that major sports like football, baseball, basketball, hockey, and soccer are faithfully recreated in videogames several times a year. These days, even sports like tennis, rugby, NASCAR, and golf, receive the videogame treatment. Generally, a sport is only made into a game if it has a solid fan base of potential gamers to make it worth the developers while. But what if that wasn’t the case? What if you could pick any five sports to be played on the digital playground?
