After last week's release of the NBA 2K9 feature list, the OS community was buzzing about the next installment of the NBA 2K series from 2K sports. Our very own Jeremy Hartman was no different and has his own thoughts on the list in his article, Reaction to NBA 2K9's Feature List.

Quote:
"So what happened? Could it be that NBA 2K9 is coming with something to blow NBA 365 out of the water? Mark Thomas, the VP of sports development at Visual Concepts, made some recent remarks that could hint toward this possibility. The NBA 2K series has always had solid gameplay so the lack of information and the sly remarks must mean that there is something big brewing, right?"

Many Madden gamers are ultra dedicated towards getting the most realistic game possible out of their franchises. From the infamous Madden 2005 manifesto at MaddenMania to the abundance of Operation Sports users who tweak sliders and rosters for ultimate realism, dozens of Madden fans try to keep it real with their Madden NFL 09 franchises.

Quote:
"But wait…isn’t the Madden development team already taking care of that? Not exactly. For years there have been groups of gamers that must have the most realistic NFL gaming experience possible. These players have gone to great lengths to ensure that they, and the general public, do not have to settle for less than the best."

Quote:
"As far as sports videogaming is concerned, franchise play is synonymous with the Madden football games. True, other sports titles have introduced franchise play as an option but no other game has a franchise mode that has captivated users quite like Madden’s. Franchise mode has single-handedly changed sports video gaming. But the real question is how do you franchise?"

Coach Hartman checks in again this week with an article at how to best utilize the three point shot in NBA 2k8.

Quote:
"Since the NBA’s adoption of the three-point line during the 1979-80 season, the trifecta has become a dangerous weapon when used properly and in moderation.

Using this weapon in NBA 2K8 can be a gamble but it can also become the proverbial “nail in the coffin” that puts your opponent away for good. Let’s take a look at some history behind the three-pointer and how to use it effectively in NBA 2K8."

Jeremy Hartman checks in on this Saturday with a look at defending the tough pick-and-roll in NBA 2k8.

Quote:
"Last week we discussed utilizing the pick-and-roll to your advantage while playing NBA 2K8. The pick-and-roll can be used in NBA 2K8 almost to the point of being called “cheesy” by your opponents. With that in mind, the question now becomes, “How do you defend the play?” This week, we will attempt to answer that question. "

Ever wondered how to do the Pick-and-Roll correctly? Coach Jeremy Hartman checks in this week with an article on successfully running the play with NBA 2K8.

Quote:
"Basketball is a game of match-ups. Taking advantage of any mismatch can turn the tide in one team’s favor during the course of a game. In order to create the mismatches most NBA teams simply rely on a timeless classic, the pick-and-roll. In NBA 2k8, you can do this as well to take advantage of the mismatch the play creates."
