2017 Week 4: @ Kansas State
Posted on December 9, 2018 at 03:24 AM.
#13 Syracuse (3-0) @ Kansas State (0-3)

Syracuse travels to Manhattan, Kansas to play the Wildcats. The Wildcats are in the midst of a rough season and they will now face the 13th ranked Orange in a game that they are being given little chance to win. The biggest change in the Syracuse offense this season is that they are no longer turning the ball over as much, owning the #4 turnover differential in the nation. Kansas State lost to an FCS team at home to open the season, and are now coming off a 36-point loss to #6 USC. The Wildcats are clearly over-matched and they might well be the worst opponent that Syracuse will face this season. The Orange should roll.

Prediction: 52-7 Syracuse

This game was never close as Syracuse jumped out to a 27-0 halftime lead and coasted to an easy victory. Kansas State could not stop the Orange offense all game and it took them too long to get their own offense rolling. The Orange were led by Tommy DeVito's six total touchdowns, three through the air and three on the ground. FR HB Richard Patton ran for nearly 100 yards and a touchdown while JR WR Allen Rawlins had a monster receiving output in the win. SO QB D'Juan Reed threw his first career touchdown in relief of DeVito today and JR TE Drew Brown scored for the first time in his career as well. The defense did not force the takeaways it was expected to against an opponent like the Wildcats but it didn't matter as the offense held onto the ball themselves as well. Syracuse moves to 4-0 on the year and the "Tommy DeVito 4 Heisman" hype train will keep on rolling for at least one more week.

Final Score: 55-28 Syracuse
