2016 Week 10: vs Indiana
Posted on November 28, 2018 at 06:17 PM.
Indiana (4-5) @ Syracuse (5-4)

Syracuse hosts the Hoosiers hoping to avoid dropping a third straight game. A win will grant the Orange bowl eligibility but a loss would really send the season in a downward spiral. Indiana has offensive struggles but those are generally cured by facing the Syracuse defense. Last season, Tommy DeVito threw 3 ugly interceptions but ran for over 100 yards during a 38-17 win in Bloomington. The Hoosiers are coming off a 42 point home loss to the Fighting Irish and will limp into Syracuse for this game. It could stay close for 3 quarters but the Orange should pull away for a victory.

Prediction: 35-21 Syracuse

Syracuse came out ready to make a statement and bounce back. They maintained a shutout for 2 1/2 quarters of play and allowed only 7 points in a dominant 42-7 win. The offense turned to ball control so the yards didn't pile up as usual, but still scored plenty of points. The defense was harassing all game, taking the ball away 3 times and scoring once on a blocked punt. JR QB Tommy DeVito was electric, throwing for 300 yards, rushing for 100, and scoring 4 times. JR HB Markenzy Pierre ran poorly once again and was then knocked out with a concussion in the second quarter. SO HB John Green came in and ran extremely well to likely wrestle the starting job away from Pierre. SR WR Aaron Noel was also a big factor in the win with 150 yards and a touchdown receiving. The Orange move to 6-4 with the victory and will try to keep it rolling next week against Virginia.

Final Score: 42-7 Syracuse
