Syracuse (4-2) @ #5 West Virginia (6-0)

Oh boy. This is the biggest test of Syracuse's season, but also the biggest test of Bays' coaching career. Syracuse will enter Morgantown as heavy underdogs to the elite Mountaineers. Syracuse QB Tommy DeVito has started to be doubted by fans and media due to his turnover problems but he has still been excellent. He will need to play a clean and efficient game if they want to win today though. West Virginia boasts a top 10 total defense and passing defense so there will be obstacles towards him. It's imperative that Syracuse can get HB Markenzy Pierre going early and establish the run game to get their offense rolling early. If the Orange want a chance to pull the upset they can not fall behind early because West Virginia's offense scores a lot of points and quickly. Syracuse looks overmatched in this game because the Mountaineers team is very nicely put together to play against Syracuse's biggest weaknesses. This game should end up being close and hard fought as it is a rivalry game and Syracuse wants to prove that they are for real in the ACC.

What a performance by Syracuse. The defense allowed only 10 points and forced 3 turnovers in a dominating performance. West Virginia could not get much going all day and were thoroughly beaten. If not for two big defensive touchdowns by the Mountaineers this game would've been a blowout. FR SS Lance Williams continued to prove that he was an overlooked recruit as he won the starting job in the beginning of the season and has been one of the most consistent players on the team, recording a clutch pick-six today in the first half. Tommy DeVito struggled with giving the ball away once again but moved it well enough to help the Orange get the win. SR WR Aaron Noel was big in the passing game as the go-to target for Syracuse and SO WR Allen Rawlins had another long touchdown to add to his total. Syracuse will now be 5-2 and right back in the conversation for the ACC title. This game will definitely not be forgotten when the rivalry renews next time, where I'm sure that West Virginia will want revenge. West Virginia will probably drop another game to a good offense somewhere because their offense is not strong enough to keep up if their defense falters or their offense turns it over.
