Syracuse (3-2) @ San Jose State (0-3)

Syracuse travels to San Jose, California to take on the winless Spartans in what looks like it should be their easiest game of the season. Considering that they already won their other two games versus Group of Five opponents by 3+ scores each, this one should be a breeze. Tommy DeVito is coming off his most efficient game of the season and the team looks to be rounding into form at exactly the right time. Syracuse should jump out to an early lead for the first time this season as well.

This game started out badly for Syracuse as DeVito threw a pick-six and then the defense allowed a long touchdown drive to enter the second quarter down 14-0 to the Spartans. San Jose State started to slow down after that and DeVito stopped the mistakes, throwing for 340 yards and a touchdown. The star of the show today was SR HB Markenzy Pierre who ran for over 100 yards and 4 touchdowns to pace the Orange to victory. SO WR Allen Rawlins once again proved to not only be a reliable possession target, but also a deep threat as he got a 60 yard touchdown in the second quarter to tie up the game. Syracuse showed once again that their offense is elite and can put up points on anyone, but their defense leaves lots to be desired as they have yet to allow under 20 points to any opponent this season. Next week the Orange have a real test as they move into the heart of ACC play at 4-2 (1-2 ACC).
