This game pits the worst team in the ACC against one of the better ones. Virginia has one win this season and it came against the NC State team that just lost in the Carrier Dome last week. Virginia's offense struggles to score which doesn't bode too well against a solid unit for Syracuse. Look for DeVito to put up big numbers and Syracuse to become bowl eligible for the first time since 2011.

We've got a shutout! Syracuse beats Virginia 23-0 in a dominant defensive performance as they keep the Cavaliers under 200 yards of offense and off the scoreboard. Virginia could not get anything going as only one drive even made it across midfield. The Orange defense held Virginia to negative rushing yards on the day as the front seven controlled the line of scrimmage and the pass rush was relentless. Tommy DeVito had some trouble making plays on the Cavalier defense as no touchdowns were scored until the fourth quarter. Tyrone Perkins had real struggles early and didn't record a single rushing yard until the second quarter but he finished with 80 yards and a touchdown. Syracuse will try to keep this defensive momentum going into next week's matchup versus Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, which will have major implications for the division title.
