Louisville Cardinals (4-3, 2-1 Away) | Syracuse Orange (3-2, 1-1 Home) | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
The Orange enter this home matchup with Louisville searching for their first conference win of the season. The Cardinals are coming off a road upset of top-25 Clemson and have to feel good about their chances versus Syracuse. Syracuse is without HB Moe Neal who was lost for the season and WR Allen Rawlins who was putting together a solid debut season. Both these players played fairly small roles in the offense however and they can probably be seamlessly replaced by capable backups. This game should be close and competitive and it could come down to which defense can figure out the winning formula first. Look for the Orange to emerge victorious in another good game.

Wow. What a game. Syracuse gets their first conference win on a last second field goal over Louisville, 29-27. Tommy DeVito shook off an early interception and went on to throw for over 400 yards and 2 touchdowns. Sean Riley and Devin Butler both had big days receiving and Tyrone Perkins had over 100 yards rushing in the winning effort. The defense was solid all day and none of their scores were allowed on long drives. Two scores were surrendered on 60+ yard plays which is not ideal and the other came with Louisville starting at the Syracuse 22 yard-line after an interception. This game was definitely one of the best of the season and Syracuse are well on their way to bowl eligibility at 4-2 on the season.
