Texas State Bobcats (4-4, 3-1 Away) | Georgia State Panthers (6-2, 4-0 Home) | |
Georgia State comes into this game having outscored their opponents 158-38 in the last 14 quarters of regulation. The Panthers defense has hit its stride recently and has not allowed any passer to throw for 200 yards in the last 3 weeks. Texas State has a very bad offense but a very good defense, ranking top 30 in Yards per game, passing per game, and rushing per game. The expectation is that Georgia State does not roll as easily as they have the past two games, but they get the job done in a defensive contest. Last season, Georgia State traveled to San Marcos and beat the Wildcats 41-24 behind a 3 touchdown day from Conner Manning.

This game was more competitive than the last two as the Wildcat's QB threw for over 350 yards and ran for 89 more. Texas State started quiet, going down 28-0 in the second quarter before rattling off the next 10 going into halftime. They punted the ball 3 times inside of the Georgia State 40 which has to hurt being so close to points. The Panthers ground and air attacks both found immense success and Winchester efficiently threw for 4 touchdowns and 3 separate runners had more than 80 rushing yards, including Bateman's 176. Next week is a cleanup game for Georgia State before they go face the real test of their season in West Point.
