This game features two good Sun Belt teams facing off with one another. UAB brings a strong defense into the game but boast a very weak passing offense going up against a very hot Georgia State pass defense. UAB could be 5-0 if not for a head-scratching loss to 2-6 New Mexico State, whom Georgia State beat handedly earlier this season. Georgia State hasn't lost a home game yet under the Bays tenure and I would not expect that to change today.

Georgia State was pushed much more than expected in this game as UAB proved that their defense is no joke and their hurry up offense can be hard to slow down at times. UAB jumped out to a quick 14-0 lead after an opening drive touchdown, forced fumble and ensuing touchdown. Georgia State answered midway through the first quarter to make it 14-7 and this game looked like it was headed in the direction of a shootout. Then the scoring quieted down eventually leading to a late touchdown giving Georgia State a 28-21 victory. Taz Bateman was held under 4 yards per carry but Aaron Winchester threw for 186 and a score and ran for another 135 and a score. He proved how dangerous of a dual threat he was in this game as he once again, calmly led a comeback after a sloppy start. Next week the Panthers are at home against Sun Belt power Arkansas State and their vaunted defense.
