Game Notes
The season kicks off at Reser Stadium on the first of September. This game looks like it's going to be a close one. Talent wise Oregon State looks to have the slight upper hand, but don't think that that matters to WMU. The Broncos went on a 9 game winning streak with new head coach Joesph Williams. He beat every MAC opponent he faced and a touch Arkansas State during Bowl Season. Western Michigan will be coming into the season riding their huge win streak and with 4 All-Ncaa Pre-Season All-American's on their back.

Oregon State looks to have some tough games in their upcoming schedule. They have to go to USC following this game. Later on they have to go to both (#25)Arizona and (#4)Stanford. To end the season they host (#10)Oregon in the Civil War rivalry. Their coach Jonathan Flores just was hired with only 4 games left in the season. He was given a messy team that didn't know where they wanted to go. He is currently 1-3 in his short career. He hopes to turn it around soon, or he might be out as quick as he was brought in. Flores does gain the 34th best recruiting class so that is something the Beavers hope can help a lot.

Western Michigan has a much easier road. Their 4 big games come early on. They play Oregon State in this one, then host (#18) Michigan State. They play a still mediocre Colorado team and then end with a game at a very good UCONN. William just got a new contract after his 1 year test was up. WMU gave hime a 2 year, 965K deal hoping for him to continue his early success. They hope to keep the nations 13th longest win streak alive.

Oregon State gets their star QB Jay Lewis back who did pretty well last year. He threw for 2900 yards and 27 TD's against only 14 INT's. Their 2 Defensive studs are their MLB and ROLB who combined to have 127 total tackles last year with 6.0 combined sacks. Their secondary looks to be weak with their 2 linebackers having more INT's than they.

For WMU they get back their 4 star players. CB Joe Austin looks to lead the secondary who also led the nation in INT's with 8. Next would be the Broncos whole entire defensive line. The line is led by All-American Shane Henley who was 3rd in the nation in sacks with 13.5. On offense they are led by QB Lee Holiday. Holiday led the nation in completions and passing yards with over 3700 yards. He also threw only 5 picks with 32 TD passes which was 3rd best in the nation in TD/INT ration. Their huge star is RB Dave Myers. Myers led the nation in TD runs and is currently 3rd in the Pre-Season Heisman Watch.

Look for this game to involve a lot of passing from both sides. Both teams are led by 2 great QB's. WMU looks to have the upper hand on defense and their running game. Predicted Score: WMU-38 Oregon State-24
