Scott played in all sixteen games and managed to throw 3 TD passes on fake field goals but did not take a single snap as the quarterback.
As the offseason approached, Scott demanded to be released by the Jaguars. Twelve teams saw the Jaguars' mistake as an opportunity to pick up a solid prospect for cheap.
However, most teams, such as the Raiders, Chiefs and Bears, were not willing to give him a shot at the starting role, wanting him solely as a backup to their accomplished QBs.
The most enticing offers came from the Texans, who were negotiating with Matt Schaub at the time, the Dolphins, the Seahawks and the Cardinals.
Matt Schaub eventually signed a 4 year deal with the Dolphins and Scott narrowed down his choice to Arizona and Houston. Both teams have superstar wide receivers on their teams, Larry Fitzgerald and Andre Johnson respectively, but the Texans roster, with the likes of Arian Foster and JJ Watt was far superior to anything the Cardinals could put together. Despite a less lucrative offer, Andrew Scott signed a 3 year deal with the Texans. Can he lead them to the playoffs in his first season as a starter?
