Shame to Fame Week 2
Posted on July 18, 2013 at 10:10 PM.
Welcome to Week 2!

Welcome to Week 2! Our first week of the OD was a great one as the game of the week was MTSU taking on Army. It was a very defensive game with the score 7-0 at the half while MTSU would record the shutout in a 21-0 win. Georgia State pulled off a major upset on UCLA (Score in dynasty will be different as EA is garbage and did not record my win because "commish had made changes".) 31-14. South Alabama struggled with Clemson in a 54-24 loss. This week we have another user vs user game in Georgia State vs MTSU. The other games on the slate is Army @ Ball State and South Alabama taking on Tulane on a neutral field. Who knows what this week has in store for us?

Week 1 Game of the Week

No Pushups Today!!

The Blue Raiders held the Black Knights scoreless as they won 21-0 in the opening week of the 2014 season. The Cadets do push-ups after every score for Army, but today they did not get in their PT. The Black Knights won the toss and elected to kick. The Blue Raiders of Middle Tennessee wasted no time marching down the field only to have a pass picked off at the 10 yard line. the opening quarter ended with the score all knotted up after both teams had to punt. with only a few ticks off the clock and Army in the redzone the ball was handed to Maples on a stretch play to the left. The ball was knowck loose. The Raiders S.Seamster scooped it and returned it 92 yards for the first score of the game. On the next drive the Knights went 3 and out and punted. The Raiders drove the field to the 29 yard line where the drive stalled. They sent out their field goal kicker who promptly showed he does not have the foot for a 40 yard FG. After the missed kick Army could not move the ball and had to punt. The lack lust performance continued for both team's offenses until the end of the third quarter when Blue Raider RB J. Parker scampered up the side line for a 58 yard score making the score 14-0 after the extra point. The game was sealed in the 4th with another fumble by the RB from Army arounf midfield. Once the fumble happened the Raiders capitalized with a TD pass from Kilgore to TE J. Corbaley on a play action with 4:26 left in the final stanza. To make matters even worse Army QB threw another pick around the 3:17 mark and that was all she wrote. The Blue Raiders ran out the clock and finished the day victorious.

Offensive player of the game:
J. Parker, RB, Middle Tennessee State: 19 carries 115 yards 1 TD
Defensive player of the game:
S. Seamster, CB, Middle Tennessee State: 4 tackles 1 FR 1TD on a 92 yard fumble return

Post Game Media:
"Man I thought we were never going to score there for a little bit. Our defense stepped up in a big way to start the second quarter when our backs were against the wall. This is what we have practiced so hard for, the chance to come out here on Saturday and get a win. My hats off to Coach Paul, he is going to get that program turned around in a hurry I promise you that". Coach Paul was not available for comment.
