Week 1 was a good week for the program recruiting wise. We gained a lot of positive feedback from players saying we were moving up their lists. We even received to verbal commitments from players.

On the downside two players did commit elsewhere, but we will look to fill their spots quickly.

Remember earlier when I said I took UNM cause I figured the D wouldn't lose any games? Whoops. Chris Nwoke would march the Rams the field on pretty much every drive and then Pete Thomas would just toss it in, mostly to Byron Steele.

On my side of the ball, things started really slow. Nothing seemed to work at all and it was painfully obvious BR Holbrook just doesn't have the speed to run the read or any kinda of option. If I can't run well soon I may have to start the quic
ker Tarean Austin (57 overall). Holbrook did make up for it late in the game when we started throwing more though.

I started to pick it up after halftime. I'm not sure what it was but I started to run a little better and was finding the holes in the secondary much better too. If only the D could have made on more stop.

PASSING:
This is where Holbrook saved us! He couldn't run effectively, save the 20 yard scamper on a broken play, so we took to the air. He only completed 48% of the passes, some just sailed or deflected by a super backer, but 20 we completed averaged about 17 yards. I'll take that.

RECEIVING:
My slots, No. 9 Michael Scarlett (62) No. 3 Martize Barr (53) and No. 81 Lamaar Thomas (59), really helped in the passing game combining for 13 of the 20 receptions. I need to find a way to work in IMPACT player Ty Kirk more, and get Quintell Solomon more touches. Maybe a move to slot for on of them?

RUSHING:
This was the most depressing part of the day, except the for the D. 22 carries for 74 yards. I would have to say almost 15 were in the first half alone! The poor 3.3 yard average made me give up slightly on the run early which may have led to us getting down so quick. Next game my goal is to pound the rock no matter what.

Game Notes
While Colorado State appears to be the better team and the experts liking them to win, we as a team feel confident in our preparations and game planning.

The offseason is over! Two-a-days have concluded and the student body is returning to Albuquerque and are ready for the season opener against Colorado State. We have already placed redshirts on players, set up the recruiting boards and finished up the schedule. Now Colorado State looms large on the coaching staffs minds, but there is plenty that needs to be done in spite of the game.

One of the biggest decisions of the year came this week when we had to finish the depth chart. We were having a tough time deciding on our starting QB. Junior BR Holbrook (65), Sophomore Stump Godfrey (65), and true freshman Dustin Walton (64) all made great showings in fall camp and would be able to start for us. Unfortunately we can only start one at a time and we chose BR because of his ability to run the ball better than the rest (68 spd 69 agl 73 acc). Dustin Walton will redshirt this season and be looked upon to win the job next season.

I have been put in charge of overseeing the recruiting staff as well as the offensive coaching staff.

This week we will offer scholarships to the players we have scouted and have on our board. We are looking to sign most of the players from the state of New Mexico, is not all, along with players from Oklahoma, Texas and Arizona. Here is a peek at our most recent board:

Obviously Texas and Oklahoma won't be too worried about us, but we have a nice board that will fit needs very well.

On to the Rams of CSU.

A little info about my coach:

Name: Adam Scolatti
Prestige: D+
Age: 32
Alma Mater: Michigan
Playbook: Scolatti Spread
Run/Pass: 57/43
Agr/Con: 60/40
Subs: 55

My Contractual Expectations:
1- 2400+ total offensive yards in one season
2- Win 8 games in one season
3- Win 6 games in one season
4- 10+ points per game in each season
5- 50% pass completions over the entire contract
6- Win 4 games in one season
7- 2000+ total offensive yards each season
8- 500+ rushing yards each season

Seems like it should be a pretty each contract to nail. One 8 win season and I already have 3/8.

Hey guys, on here I will be talking about my coaches Dynasty.

I just uploaded the new rosters (thanks to the guys at TGT. "Big ups" *Ali G voice*) so now I will start one for real.

I have created my own playbook. It consists of Pistol and Spread, and focuses a lot on the read option.

I got my coach made up and I will be using kkman187's sliders. "Big ups" again.

I will be taking my coaching talents to New Mexico to get this program off the ground. I landed on UNM because they had a very good D and a not so good O. I figured that I shouldn't lose any games because of them!

Well wish me luck!
