Here are 5 Things I look for in a good base passing play!

Here is what I expect out of my passing plays.

-A quick read that must be defended against

-A route that consistently beats man

-The option to add protection based on defensive look

- A route that gets to the 1st down marker

-A late outlet or flat route as a safety valve

Ex. Madden 10 Post Corners!

I look for the option to go max protect if necessary. I look for a route that can use motion to my advantage. I look for a route that will beat man coverage nearly every time especially my TE against a LB. I also look for an un-bumpable route to beat press coverage...

I usually make one of my routes a Cover 2 beater and a Cover 3 beater. Also, a quick read/man beater (Stutter Hook is 6 against man). And a HB to block or be an outlet/safety valve.

**I meant one of my routes beats Cover 2 and another beats Cover 3.
