NBA Live Is Coming

NBA Live is better than NBA 2k. No. Not yet. Think about it though, isn't the complete debacle surrounding NBA 2k14 next-gen the kind of thing we would expect from... EA Sports? While NBA Live is of course no where near 2k is in terms of gameplay and graphics, they have something that 2k doesn't have. Something to prove. They don't have complacency issues in house that 2k obviously has obtained by not having competition in the past few years.

The NBA Live staff is obviously hungry to get better over the next few years. While the 2k staff is trying to fix issues that is plaguing is current version in the series, NBA Live is currently doing things like scanning in players face for years to come so that they can not just walk through the door 2k is opening for them but completely run through it.

While I do agree that NBA Live has a long way to go to accomplish what 2k has accomplished, I also understand that this industry was once dominated by NBA Live and while they will never dominate it again they most certainly can give 2k more than it can handle. I hope this competition does happen so that we can not only have good games but great games because competition breeds excellence.

Although scanning of the faces is a good start obviously, 2k already has the drop on them with the faces. 2k still could still make a lot more players photo-realistic, but to say that NBA Live will take over 2k one day based on the latest information is most probable an overreaction more or less. Whether that's out of hope of the belief (that you want NBA Live to better in the long run) or a simple misvaluing of the latest information being presented, either way I don't think the information you presented and articulated proves what your ultimate answer and conclusion was, but it doesn't won't happen.
We shall see.. We shall see....

Well, obviously you missed the line where it says I never expect NBA Live to be better than 2k again, just bring on great competition. To say NBA Live could never compete again would ludacris. Making that conclusion is more than less a general one but I appreciate your comment.

I'm happy to have competition back in the market, because someone over at 2K must have slept through the SimCity 4 and Xbox One announcement disasters when they decided to monetize their customer base by taking everything online and locking everything down behind microtransactions. I'll be trying NBA Live next season and won't purchase 2K's game unless they roll back the oppressive online requirements.

I hope for a 50/50 split or add another player and divide the market evenly. EA does have a history of getting market share and then going Madden.
I look at how many choices we had before the NFL gave the keys to EA. There was 5 or 6 choices. 2k seems to be moving forward but the greed of milking more money from us gamers is why I may retire from the franchise.

Also the VC stuff started in 2k13 and I forced my game offline. They should keep the VC for online gameplay. I don't want my games cross contaminating each other. Takes the fun out of it. Offline a user soul be able to cheat all they want.
