Post E3 thoughts: Ignite Engine
Posted on June 14, 2013 at 11:14 PM.
EA Sports introduced their new Ignite Engine at the debut and introduction of the Xbox One. Coming out of E3, it would seem the most intriguing idea surrounding the Ignite Engine would be the development of the areas off the field and court.

The idea that through the Ignite Engine we would be able to receive living worlds to play our favorite sports games in has earned speculation. This speculation is well earned looking over the past couple of years in some of EA's biggest franchises such as Madden, NCAA Football, and, of course, NBA Live. However, if EA is able to take advantage of the new consoles abilities and truly take a step forward towards building the overall experience that we get when we are actually in the stands at our favorite events could make this idea the best of the next generation sports titles.

To think that us as fans of our favorite teams could play in some of the loudest, craziest, and biggest stadiums that actually feel and sound like we are there. Stadiums and arenas like Madison-Square Garden, The Big House, and Wembley Stadium. The surroundings in those stadiums from the sidelines to the endzones will hopefully go from lifeless to fully stocked with the same sights we see on game day.

These ideas and more are the reason why the concept of living worlds is the feature to be most excited about if EA can deliver on this great idea.
