Regular Season (Weeks 1-5):
KC @ Chargers - Lose 30-7
* The excitement of the 3-1 pre-season was quickly tempered with an opening loss in San Diego to the division rivals. We will meet again.

KC @ Cardinals - Lose 38-28
* The process of The Chiefs coming together as a team and learning to win was again derailed by a high-powered Cardinal squad. 0-2 hurts to open on the road and will not help the home opener attendance.

Week #3 - Bye Week

Broncos @ KC - Lose 27-24 (ot)
* We really wanted this one. Division rivals...home opener...a chance to impress the crowd with the new look for 2010. Still work to do apparently, but if you don't actually win, a well-fought overtime loss is the next best thing? Not really. Still smarts.

Chargers @ KC - Lose 34-31
* Well the change for redemption came early. But it would appear the Chargers are going one way and The Chiefs are still in re-tolling mode. Chargers 4-0, Chiefs 0-4 and starting to take it on the chin in the media!

Trade Deadline:
The toughest moves you make are sometimes resisting the urge to make a ton of moves, even in the face of 0-4!
* (A little confession, for the record this is actually the third franchise that I have attempted, the first two ending in the third and forth years as I was stumbling through the game. At the risk of repeating, Madden 10 is my first ever Madden game...late bloomer...and because the "manual" really only deals with which buttons to push and not really "how" the game truly functions, I was thrilled, but totally at a loss! But, because the chance to manage a sports franchise is such a cool idea, I am trying to be a quick study. And truly, the salary cap, trading - or not trading - and impatience are hurdles for a less than casual follower of the NFL...until now.)
No deals! We made a lot of moves last year, drafted well and just have to have faith in the process. Stick to the gameplan so to speak!

Regular Season (Week 6):
49s @ KC - WIN 28-19
* Maybe it was the relief of the quiet trading deadline or maybe it was the confidence the GM has shown in the squad since the start of the season, in spite of everything, but win number one came in week six. The Chiefs are 1-4. Last year we sat at 2-4 after the sixth week of the season and don't think I haven't heard about it loudly and often.Once again it's time to turn to the scouts, the new scouting team this season and review where we are in the process of adding more pieces to the puzzle for next season.The report shows that we seem to have a decent crop of HB's, although HB Charles seems to be rounding into form nicely, despite our record, so hopefully we'll just add depth at that position. It's a little light in this year's WR department apparently, but the preliminary reports also suggest some CB's may be worthy of a look.
