The Return of The Chiefs!

First a slight disclaimer or two that may, or may not, explain some of the moves you'll read about in this dynasty!

I am new to the Madden franchise with Madden 10. Have never owned the game before...have seen it played once...just never jumped in until now!
I'm Canadian. We play a slightly different brand of football north of the border. I am a fan of the CFL, and while not a truly hardcore fan of the NFL, I will be now.
I think I will enjoy the challenge of trying to build a football team that will someday compete for the Super Bowl!

Last Year: Of course you know that the Chiefs struggled last season. They were only able to mount a 2-14 record, the team was simply not responding and were going backwards in many ways.

New Coach: Todd Haley and a new team of coaches have been tasked with turning this around. And with a committed owner (ME) we are going to make the moves we feel needed to take this team into the playoffs and eventually compete for the ultimate prize!

Pre-Season (all games simmed):
Texans @ KC - Lose 23-17
KC @ Vikings - Tie 19-19
Seahawks @ KC - Lose 16-6
KC @ Rans - Lose 27-24

The pre-season ends with a dismal 0-3-1 record and it's quite clear there is work to do!

After evaluating the pre-season and prior to moving to the regular season, I evaluate the team and spot some opportunities.
Vrabel ROLB, at age 34, still has a couple of good years, but would also allow me to plug some other roster holes if I were to shop him for the right trade before week 6. Chambers WR also is in the twilight of his career and I would like to utilize that assest as we begin to re-build. We'll see who picks up the phone and has the best deal through the first five weeks.

I start scouting, concentrating on what I feel are the biggest ways to improve. I target the offensive line, a solid tight end and look to bolster the safety position with some new, young talent. So I target RG-RT-TE-FS-SS.
