Viking - 2011 Pre-Season

Pre-Season:

Vikings 28-33 Titans
Cuts after the first week included backups at the K-P-QB and CB positions. We also decided to release an LE and LG as we work toward the line-up for opening week.

Vikings 13-27 Seahawks
Only a couple of cuts this week at the LOLB and FB position. I believe we are going to have an issue at LOLB that might require a patch from the later rounds of pre-season cuts through free agency.

Cowboys 3-17 Vikings
Our first win of the pre-season as things begin to take shape. We went through many additional cuts after the game including parting ways with Tight Ends Loeffler and Kleinsasser. In fact a total of 12 players will unfortunately have to get back to the NFL a different way now.

Texans 25-17 Vikings
The final pre-season game produced a record of 1-3 and showed some of the weaknesses that we'll either have to mask or work around through the first part of the regular season. But, as always, the pre=season is the palce where you work through plays and people to hopefully produce a team!
As I suspected, we had too big a concern at our LOLB position with only Henderson remaining on the roster so we dipped into the free agent market and signed Julian Peterson to a one-year 850k contract to hopefully shore up that position.

Injury Report:
Only one crucial injury through the pre-season to RG Anthony Herrera who will remain out for the first five games with a toe injury. That does leave us a bit vulnerable on the right side of the offensive line. We'll evaluate that week-to-week!
