It seems like just the other day I woke up one morning and like I always do i turned on SportsCenter to see what had happened in the late night and early morning while i was asleep and the developing story was about Notre Dame and some teams from the Big 12 possibly recieveing invites to the Big 10. Now this was something that seemed like just another rumor that wasn't going to happen(just like the Izzo to Cleavland talks were very minor until today and it seems like he will be going there). Little rumors continued as the Fighting Irish said they had no plans of changing their independent status, and many other teams debunked the notion of moving conferences. Then slowly the rumors began to pickup steam and analyst around ESPN studios were starting to think that it might work once the PAC 10 was involved. Now here we are today, It looks like the Big 12 will no longer be as the power teams from the conference move to the Pac 10, Nebraska will be heading to the Big 10, and Kansas, Kansas State, and Iowa State are left shaking there heads wondering why they will now be left out and no longer in a power conference. This has all happened so fast and will make sense in time as changes cannot be made this year and probably wont go into effect until 2012, but this does leave questions for all of us college sports fan's like will this eventually turn the college landscape into four power conferences? If so it will be from some peoples perspectives the Pac 10 expanded, Big 10 expanded, SEC, and the combination of the ACC/Big East, and if this is the case the college basketball world will be will be changed forever with two of the best conferences merging as one. If that is the case do you see the BCS going away as most fans wish and on the basketball side would they need to change up the tourney selection process? I'm sure all of these questions will be answered soon but in the mean time feel free to let your mind imagine the possibilities and let me know what you think.

The tournament selection process would absolutely need to be changed, considering the reliance on automatic bids.

you make great points, Its only been another day and we already have Boise moving to a new conference and it looks like Texas A&M is tired of being in little brothers shadows and are looking to get into the SEC....very interesting months to come.
