Baltimore Ravens at San Deigo Chargers

Graham kicks Ravens through
Shayne Graham was the toast of Baltimore as he kicked his 28th FG of the season as time expired to put Baltimore through to the AFC Championship game. It ended a fourth quarter packed with incident as The Chargers pegged The Ravens back to 21 all after scoring 15 points in the final quarter.
Things had started in a much calmer fashion as both teams tried to establish the run early in the game. Both Ray Rice and rookie Chargers HB Ryan Mathews set off in blistering fashion, with both backs averaging over 5 yards a carry for the game. Despite the impressive running neither team could find the end zone in the 1st, San Deigo's FG the only score.
The Ravens dominated the 2nd qtr, as Joe Flacco backed up the running of Rice as the D began to play for the run, hitting Boldin and Heap for succesive 1st downs, before Donald Brown dove in at the corner on a 7yd run, his 6th TD of the year. After forcing The Chargers 3 and out, Flacco again led his team up the field, this time putting the finishing touches himself as he found veteran WR Derrick Mason on a diving catch from 8yds out. With 2 minutes left San Deigo could only manage to drive into field goal range for Kaeding to score, making the half time score 14 - 6 to The Ravens.
Flacco and Rice ran the show in the 3rd qtr, driving the field, and when Flacco found Dante Stallworth unmarked for the score The Ravens looked to be through with a 21 - 6 lead. The Chargers refused to lie down and when Quentin Jammer intercepted Flacco, The Chargers took advantage of the short field as Darren Sproles slipped through and scored from 5yds.
With 10 minutes left and a one score lead, The Ravens offensive regrouped on the sideline, no doubt with the intention of running as much clock as possible, only for Foxworth to have the ball stripped on the resultant kick return, allowing Mathews to score from 16yds a few plays later. With the score tied at 21, it was a nervy last 9 minutes as both teams failed to exert dominance with the ball until Flacco found some form to set up the game winning kick.
The win means The Ravens travel to Pittsburgh next week for the third match up of the season after Steelers saw off The Patriots 34 27. In the NFC The Cowboys put out defending champions New Orleans 21 14 and The Vikings blew out The Cardinals 33 6.
