Baltmore Ravens at Jacksonville Jaguars

Dominant Ravens shut-out Jags
The Baltimore Ravens sent a message to the rest of the NFL as they breezed pass the Jaguars 27 - 0. The Ravens doniated the game throughout as Jacksonville struggled to maintain any offensive momentum whilst failing to stop The Ravens offence as they suffered their first shut out of the year.
In a game billed as the clash between two of the leagues most exciting young half backs, the running game was somewhat smothered in the first half, as both defences stacked the box, and neither Ray Rice or Maurice Jones-Drew managed to register any meaningful yards in the game. Baltimore adapted better as Joe Flacco led his team around the park.
It was Flacco who created the first score when he found TE Todd Heap at the rear of the endzone towards the end of the second quarter from 12yds out. As both teams struggled to establish their running game, both punters were called into action throughout the first half until Flacco found Anquan Boldin for succesive first downs to set up Shayne Graham for a 45yd FG to end the first half scoring.
Whilst the home sides fans hoped for some magic after the interval, The Ravens had other ideas as they contiued to harass the Jags offence, forcing them to continue punting the ball away. The offence took advantage of the D's hard work as Donald Brown slipped over on a 6yd dive to extend the Ravens lead. Brown has 6 TD's for the year, mainly down to the hard yards gained by his more illustrious partner Rice. Rice finally got himself on the score sheet, converting 3rd and goal from the flat on a 5yd reception to put an endto the Jags participation this season.
In the other AFC Wildcard game, The Patriots thrashed The Jets 48 10, whilst in the NFC The Saints overcame The Eagles 34 26 and The Cardinals needed overtime to beat The Rams 34 28. Baltimore travel to San Diego to take on the Chargers next week whilst The Steelers entertain the Patriots. In the NFC The Cardinals match up with the Vikings and the Saints visit The Cowboys.
